May 2008 Awards Party for Charlottesville Yoseikan

Helen Payne, mother of budo baby, Megan, hosted an end of the year awards party for the Cville Yoseikan. Members came out in full force to attend this event. The karate school will make this the first of an annual affair. The purpose of such an event is to recognize those students who have made vast improvement over the past year as well as making great contributions to the growth and stability of the dojo. However, we at Cville Yoseikan , can never turn down an excuse for a party and Helen is truly the ultimate hostess!

There were a total of seven awards presented to students. Three were from the Honbu dojo in recognition of the important contributions that these individuals have made to Cville Yoseikan and in so doing, promoting the overall growth of the United States Chito Kai. Receiving the "Hanshi Awards" were Mr. Richard Rike, Linda Hexter and Megan Payne. The other four awards were issued to Mrs Pam Grammer, Mr. Fred Siebenman as well as Brendon Ventura and Patrick Keese.

There was another presentation made to Caitlyn Payne one of our former students, for all of her hard work and success in her artistic endeavors. A plaque is forthcoming that will honor these students. This will be hung in the dojo and every year seven more students will be recognized.

Once again, a big thanks to Helen as well as all who support our Cville family!
